The occupational therapy covers different fields in neurological treatment.

The main goal is to regain loss of function and to practice possibilities of compensation.

Further goals are:

  • Treatment of gross and fine mortor control
  • Improvement of balance and equilibrium reaction
  • Improvement of neurophysical deficits and limitations of mental deficits
  • Learning of compensatory movements
  • Development and improvement of communication
  • Practicing activities of daily life to improve independence
  • Fitting appliances and aids
  • Counseling of family members
  • Retraining the person affected by a neurological/other disorders to help him to regain his work

On admission to the occupational therapy in conjunction with other team members, will be carry out a comprehensive assessment of the individual ability to participate in activities of daily life and movements is assessed by all team members in the unit to occupational therapy
The occupational therapist will be also involves with the physiotherapist and nursing staff in ensuring that the individual is appropriately seated and the posture and positioning program is carried out.
