About Me:

After MBBS (Hons.), I have done my MD Medicine (Gold Medalist) and DM Neurology from Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, India. I have passed MRCP (UK) SCE Neurology. Subsequently, I have done my three-year clinical fellowship in Parkinson’s disease and Movement disorders under Prof. Mandar Jog at the prestigious London Health Sciences Center, University of Western Ontario (LHSC, UWO), Canada. I have been trained in the diagnosis and clinical management of different domains of movement disorders including

  • Parkinson’s disease (PD)
  • Atypical parkinsonism like PSP, CBS, MSA, DLB
  • Tremor
  • Chorea
  • Myoclonus
  • Cerebellar Ataxia
  • Dystonia
  • Tics
  • Athetosis
  • Ballismus

I have also received training on:

  • Botulinum toxin therapy in movement disorders
  • Deep brain stimulation (DBS) programming
  • Levodopa-carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG)/Duodopa
  • Apomorphine (Subcutaneous and sublingual)
Apart from clinical neurology, I am interested in clinical research. Clinical genetics in movement disorders is a field close to my heart. I have published more than 24 papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
